About this deal

The top notes of Coco Noir include grapefruit, tart bergamot, and orange, leading to heart notes of rose, geranium, intoxicating patchouli, and enchanting jasmine.

This is hamburger being sold as tenderloin to the newbies uninterested in or conscious of what real Chanel is - or was. Our posters are crafted on 230gsm Archival Matte paper, boasting a bright white, reflection-free surface that beautifully showcases images and text with unparalleled clarity. Coco Noir reminds me of a cross between Coco OG and Coco Mademoiselle, with a little bit of an airier, nuttier aspect that makes me think of coconut milk although Coco Noir doesn't smell at all tropical.

This is such an intense perfume that as soon as I apply it to myself, it feels quite overwhelming to my senses.

As much as I love the scent of this perfume and the notes that it has, one thing that does get me about the Chanel Coco Noir is that it is very intense when you apply. This isn’t a shy one, with plenty of character and attitude, the kind of scent I imagine a woman like Miranda Priestly would wear to meetings. As much as I love the phrase "nocturnal Baroque," I don't think Coco Noir fits that descriptor; I think OG Coco is closer to my idea of a nocturnal Baroque--it's much more complex and multilayered.

For example, when you wear a pearl necklace, a red dress, and black shoes, go to the theater, style your hair in a casually French way, or apply red lipstick.Just tried it at the boutique and it is way more old smelling than Coco mademoiselle and Coco mademoiselle intense. Really wanted to continue liking this fragrance as much as the first hour of wearing it but patchouli had to come and ruin all the ambery vibe of it for me.

In particularly hot weather I use only the body lotion, but 90% of the time I like to layer the body wash, body lotion and perfume. BUT it’s the perfect scent for those fall days when it’s pouring rain, it’s cold and a bit dark and you are reading an old book covered with a blanket. As an initial start, I would recommend having CM and would try the CN for late hours maybe, for a night date etc while the CM is more energetic, youthful and prominent. After that the floral heart pushes through and it starts to become pleasant, then lovely, then gorgeous as the OG base notes come in.This isn't something I would reach for on a daily basis, but more so for special occasions or when I need that confidence boost. But if you set your mind to it, the scent reminds me of Coco Chanel, just not as festive, but more warm and enveloping, then I like it! The initial blast was very unappealing to me, followed by the clove note quickly popping through and there it stayed…far too long for me. And observed it evolve to a shy Allure Sensuelle Edp, which I really love, but sometimesI find too loud for everyday scent- I love the fragrance, but it is overwhelming during the summer. I tested it when I first got it for my birthday party this past Saturday, but it didn't seem to last long.
